I have taken all my footage, and right now I cutting my clips into the timeline. I still need to record the voice for my cat and animate her. But those are the next steps after I compile the video.

  1. I'm interested to see how you will be able to animate the cat. To make it more realistic I would try to have her "speak" when she is facing different directions. (Looking at you, looking at the screen, etc.) Good luck getting the cat to fully cooperate with you!

  2. It looks like you got some good footage. I'm also curious to see how you will make the "speaking" work with the cat looking back and forth. I know you said a few times that you wanted the mouth to move like Angel is really speaking, so be careful with that when the cat turns her head. It might not be a problem because it happens so fast, but nonetheless, work it!

  3. I'm excited to see the final product! The footage you got looks great. The only issue I have, and this is really just a pet peeve of mine, is the jump cut from you not in the seat to when you're in it. It'd be much more fluid if you had a clean entrance/walked into the shot.

Also some shot variety would be good. Like maybe for a take you could put the camera on the desk to get a different angle, or switch from a wide shot to a close up or something.

I know the biggest thing is definitely to get the cat speaking, so these are just kind of optional suggestions because the video looks fine as is really.

  4. This is really cool, I hope you are planning to make the cat say something in between when it introduces the cat and the title of your video, I think you left enough hover time on the cats face for that. Also I think when you come into the scene you should be in the chair, take out the empty chair at the intro.. because you want it to look like your permanent position in the video, you never leave your computer that is why your cat is saying, "Your crazy go eat or something." haha

  5. I just think maybe you should have a fade in to you sitting in your chair rather than you magically popping up at your desk.

  7. I really like how you've given this a cinematic feeling with the way the titles come in and the room is lit. Looking forward to seeing Angel talk lol

  8. I think Blossom is right with some sort of fade, the way you keep popping in sort of reminds of the way Paranormal Activity is shot, which I think is a way creepier vibe than you're going for, although maybe some sounds and/music can help move my head away from that

  9. The title card is easily my favorite part, the timing and handling of type(mostly) is effective. also congrats on getting your cat to pay attention and look at the camera. The jumps between shots where you are/are not present is confusing but I don't think you necessarily need to smooth it out. Your concept (as I understand it) hovers between sane reality and unseated fantasy. This could be amplified by time-warping editing or dropping crucial frames of movement to convey a sense of distorted reality.

  10. Nice. Is the cat's mouth going to be animated? I'd play with the lighting a bit. You have a lot of backlight in the beginning. I'm sure theres some sort of filter in after effects that can fix that.
